using the guide lines of the form create your smile line 

 if you are using tips apply the white directly on the free edge of the tip

1. Dab your  Kolinsky brush into the Empire Nail Solutions Ultra Bond Acrylic Liquid, and create a medium wet ball with the Acrylic Powder either Soft White or Ultra White.

2.Apply your first bead evenly and pack down.

3.After this apply your second bead evenly and pack down, make sure that with your second bead you start to form your smile line from one end of the side wall to the other end of the side wall.

4.Dip your Kolinsky Brush into the Acrylic Liquid and perfect the line with your brush above the smile line. make sure you go over this to get a very even straight line all the way round. If you have jagged edges sticking out, make sure that you dig them into the french. Once you have applied the french,you are now ready to apply either the Pink, the White or the Clear Acrylic Powder over the French manicure. Follow the directions on how to apply Acrylic.

A residual gel is runny and can be great to work with on tips and on natural nails. however, a combination of both the residual gel and ultra bond gel will give you  the best results. This guide is for clients who prefer their natural nails or have grown there set of nails out and are now keeping their natural nails.

1. Prepare your nails so that they are very rough-a 100/100 nail file or 120/240 is best, it is VERY important that there is no shinny bits reflecting back at you from the nail surface. It is also VERY important that your client does not touch her nails after you have prepared them or put them near their face or clothes. It is also important that you do not touch the nail with your skin-this will prevent the moisture from jumping back onto the nail and will ensure a brilliant result! in order for an overlay to work, your client will need a free edge that covers the front of the skin on the finger (so you can see the nails when you turn their hand around) if the nails are too short you may find adhesion problems, this is because the skin is so close to the free edge of the nail that the moisture is transferred rapidly and cannot be totally eliminated-causing lifting. i always recommend that the shorter nails be replaced with tips and the other nails overlay-ed-this will keep your client happy and will save you time having to fix reoccurring problems. When doing a two/three week infill, make sure you buff-away and flatten ANY lifting or it will reoccur and can lead to further problems.If you think a nail needs to be replaced, it probably does. replace it to be sure, remember your clients are a walking advert to your work.
2. DO NOT use primer with the residue gel, this might cause lifting.
3. Apply the gel evenly and generously (if you are seeing fibres and lumps you are painting the gel on too thin) over the nail and ensure you drag it over the free edge and cap the free edge (running your gel brush over the front of the free edge) try not to fan your gel brush
4. Place the hand in a 36w gel lamp for 1 minute and while it is curing apply the gel to the second hand.
5. You are now ready to use the ultra bond gel.
6. Apply the ultra bond gel as directed, apply extreme french or soft french if desired, then finish off with a polish of your choice.

1. After you have applied and cured your first coat of ultra bond you are ready to apply the extreme french
2. use a #4f flat sable hair gel brush
3. ensure you stir the pot before every application, this will bring the colour pigments from the bottom of the pot to the top.
4. apply your french from the left hand side of the free edge to the right. do not fan your gel brush. Try not to paint the gel on too thick.
5. after you have painted all 5 fingers, insert the hand into a 36watt lamp and cure for two minutes. check to see that the hand is all the way into the light to ensure successful curing of all the nails.
6. paint the last coat of ultra bond gel,finish with a pink or white top coat for  smooth finish.

Common Problems and solutions.

1. The french is not drying on some of the fingers - Make sure the hand is all the way in the lamp and that the fingers are slightly apart so that the u.v. light can reach every angle. If this does not work you may want to check that all your bulbs are working. U.v bulbs work very hard and need replacing every 6 months to ensure maximum efficiency of your gel lamp, they might need replacing
2. I am getting little round bumps on my french after i have taken it out the lamp- This is simply a case of applying the french too thick, try using the gel a little more sparingly, to get rid of the bumps file very gently with your nail file and continue applying your last coat of E.N.S ultra bond.
3. I am getting gel holes and sliding of the french-there is moisture on the nail, never touch the nails with you skin and never let your clients put there hands near there face before you apply ANY gel. This is very very important, i always ask them to place the hand I’m not busy with on the towel or in the lamp so that i can see it at all times. Moisture on the nail will cause serious gel holes.

It is important to stir the french gel EVERY TIME you intend to use it. This is because the pigment sinks to the bottom and needs to be lifted up through the gel. We suggest using the flat end of the steel cuticle tool. Rather than stirring the product, fold the mixture bringing the pigment up from the bottom of the pot to the top.

1. Follow the steps on applying the Ultra Bond gel but note that your french will be sandwiched between the two coats of Ultra Bond gel (ensg1).
2. Once you have applied and cured your first coat of Ultra Bond gel, apply your french manicure.
3. The Extreme French (ensg2) should be applied with a #4f sable brush (ensb7). For best results use the squareness of the brush to get the perfect smile line.
4. Apply the french on one hand being careful not no smudge it. Place your client’s hand in the 36w u.v lamp for one minute. If you are using the Soft French (ensg3) you might prefer to apply two coats.
5. Apply your last coat of Ultra Bond gel
6. Finish with a top coat of your clients choice.

It is important to stir the colour gel EVERY TIME you intend to use it; this is because the pigment sinks to the bottom and needs to be lifted up through the gel. 2. Use a 100/180 nail file to remove the shine off the natural nail, pay careful attention to the cuticle area. (ensnf20)
3. Apply your tip with the empire nail solution ultra bond resin (ensfr5)
4. Blend and shape nail to perfection, ensure that all 10 fingers are the same length and shape from your perspective and your clients. We recommend a 100/100 grit nail file (ensnf12) Make sure that you are happy with everything as you shouldn’t fiddle with the shape once you have cured your gel.
5. smooth out the tips with a white sanding block (ensnf8)
6. ensure that you do not touch the surface of the nail plate with your finger tips, also ensure that during the procedure your client does not put their hand near their face and keeps the hand you are not working with on the towel so that you can see it.
7. Remove all the dust from the hands and the nail plate with the dusting brush
8. Always work with a piece of Carlton towel (kitchen towel) when you are applying the gel
9. sparingly brush on the non-acidic primer on the nail plate near the cuticle area (enss4)
10. Apply your first coat of colour (choose from our wide range) with a 4f sable gel brush (ensb7), ensure you leave a gap between the cuticle wall and the nail plate only visible to a trained eye, apply the colour from top to bottom , left to right, do not fan your brush and always cap the free edge with gel,
11. Place hand all the way into the 32watt gel lamp (ensg5) and cure for 1 minute
12. You should always apply two- three coats of colour to ensure a solid and non-patch result.
13. Apply two coats of the ultra bond gel as described in Useful tips on the ultra bond gel
14. When you have cured your second coat of gel apply a nail polish straight over the gel either clear pink or white (ensm11_3)
15. When the lacquer has dried ensure that there is nothing underneath the nail (nail shavings for example) and go under each nail with your white sanding block to take the sharp edges off the nail.
16. Apply cuticle oil to all the fingers (enss5) and massage gently into the hands.

The Ultra Bond gel is incredibly adhesive but you still need to follow the basic rules of preparation for a perfect finish.

1. Make sure you push all the cuticles back with either an orange stick (ensm2) or a steel cuticle tool (ensm6).
2. Use a 100/180 nail file to remove the shine off the natural nail, paying careful attention to the cuticle area. (ensnf20)
3. Apply your tip with the Empire Nail Solution Ultra Bond resin (ensfr5)
4. Blend and shape the nail to perfection, ensuring that all 10 fingers are the same length and shape from your perspective and your clients. 9. Sparingly brush on the non-acidic primer on the nail plate near the cuticle area (enss4)
10. Apply your first bead of Ultra Bond gel (ensg1) with a #4f gel brush (ensb7)…do not dab your brush. Smooth the gel on from left to right, top to bottom. Do not be scared to work with the gel.
11. Apply the gel to all five fingers and wait about 20seconds for the gel to self-level.
12. Place hand all the way into the 32watt gel lamp (ensg5) and cure for 1 minute.
13. Repeat this with the other hand.
14. For a strong durable result you should always apply at least two coats of the Ultra Bond gel.
15. When you have  cured your second coat of gel apply, a nail polish straight over the gel either clear, pink or white (ensm11_3)
16. When the lacquer has dried, ensure that there is nothing underneath the nail (nail shavings for example) and go under each nail with your white sanding block to take the sharp edges off the nail.
17. Apply cuticle oil to all the fingers (enss5) and massage gently into the hands.
